While I figure out what I am going to do next I'm doing boring stuff like quilt backs, thinking about binding (not actually making any, mind you), tidying up. Today I thought I'd make my denim piece a bit bigger, since I've decided I want to be able to snuggle up under it. They're predicting a long, cold winter so I want to be ready. Wait, who I am trying to kid? I am never ready for long, cold winter, but at least I might be able to hide under a big pile of quilts in the evening and pretend it's not happening outside my window.

Your piece of work is interesting. I like that you added pink fabric and pink thread. This color is so pretty next to blue. And isn't recycling jeans fun? :-)
I agree about winter... Lots of quilts and hot tea are what see me through!
I like the dark denim you added to the outside and what it does to the overall quilt. I agree...dreading the cold, but thank goodness we can take sanctuary under our quilt creations.
I agree with your cleaning and clearing theory. Trite tasks are good for freeing us, and allowing our imaginations to wander. It's hard to believe fall is nearly a week away, but we can really feel the light changing here. I put my border and corner blocks on my improv project today, and thought what a minkee backing might do to that shiny, busy quilt top. I can see myself hunkered down under it on a snowy night looking at all the pieces, and remembering where I was while piecing it. I've also found myself thinking about some sewing projects for evenings while we sit and spend a little time together. Usually we watch one show before we're both asleep, but plugging away at a quilt helps keep me going. Around here, winter is a season of rest unless we have a lot of snow to deal with. I'm ready for it.
Love your recycled jeans project!
Love your recycled jeans project!
This one will probably be heavier, but it is looking fabulous. Look the funky look to the mixed colors and parts of the jeans.
Using entire jeans legs as a wide border. How interesting.
