Time slips away and leaves you with nothing, mister, but mountains of spam to delete

I'm not going to waste anyone's time with excuses, or vows to do better.  I haven't been sewing, so haven't been blogging and the whole things makes me fed up!  Then I sign back in (that's right, I haven't even been into my email account for months) and what do I find? That's right, hundreds of spam messages.  So if what you are after is cleaning services in Dubai, or fishnet stockings, or baby clothes then clearly this has been the place to be.  If you were after quilting, then not so much.

Whilst not blogging or sewing I have continued to homeschool, though thankfully for all concerned that stopped in September when normal schooling returned.  I have also sold a house and bought a house, with only a month between these two events.

So now here I am, working my way into a new place and trying to rebuild old routines. To which end, here's a pile of fabrics which might become a quilt.

With reference to an AHIQ challenge which I set many moons ago, I decided that what makes me happy right now is bird fabric and that particularly mucky yellow-green colour,so that's where I have started.  It might be a bit of a bumpy start, since I am out of practice, but fingers crossed...

I did wonder where you had gone, but since I too have avoided the internet for most of the past few months, I just took it for granted that you just needed a break. Carry on and have a wonderful rest of the week!

I'm in the middle of bumpy right now. My household goods rolled away on a 20 foot sea container just 2 hours ago, and we will be putting our home on the market next week when we leave (to avoid covid risk / exposure). I hope that whatever comes of this bundle, it is fun to work on and with and you find joy in the making.

You come up with the greatest combinations. (Since my name is Robin) I heartily approve of you using bird fabric. I hope you get some much needed satisfaction/warmth from starting a new project.

Happy you decided to "come back"...isn't that spam terrible? I've been inundated with it, too.
I love watching your pile of fabrics come together...hope you are refreshed...
hugs, stay safe Julierose :()

I was just thinking about, and missing, your blog yesterday. I have been terrible about reading and writing, and lately, sewing, so I truly get the long break for you. Life has been upended in so many ways. But I’m thrilled you are back! I’m sorry about the spam. I’m looking forward to your new project, and I hope it feeds your soul as only a creative project can.

It's a process, especially with a major house move thrown into our covid year. Good for you to be back blogging. Love the bird fabric and can't wait to see how you use it.

Oh, I think you will pick where you left off, making beautiful quilts with what seems disparate fabrics. It's nice to visit you again. I have missed visiting your creative place.

Oh, you have had a lot of challenges -- buying and selling houses, moving, plus school at home, not mention everything else all the other ways covid as affected us. I'm glad you were able to pull fabric for a new quilt. I am always fascinated by your choices and look forward to seeing your progress on this quilt (however slow it may be!).

Welcome back! We did the buying and selling houses last year, I can relate very easily. Add home schooling to that, I can see why you didn't have any spare time to sew. The new set of fabric looks wonderful, I look forward to seeing what you make with them.

Good to hear from you. Hope you find back to your routines and continue with your quilt making. As usual I'm looking forward to see how it will develop. Have a good time.

I knew you were homeschooling, but wowsers, buying and selling a house too? So happy to see you back and your fabrics are making me smile from ear to ear! Have missed your posts tremendously, but this year has been a rough one for many. I definitely post a lot less often than before and find my mojo is much more scattered and harder to focus than in years past. Best to you with the new routines!

You have been so busy with life but I'm selfishly glad you have a bit of time to sew again. Congratulations on selling and buying homes. Such a lot of work. And becoming a headmaster... or at least a study hall proctor.
The fabrics look just like you - birds and unusual geometrics/shirting. This will be fun and we could all use a bit of that right now.
Stay safe. I'm so glad the UK is getting the Covid vaccine and hope you and your family will be inoculated soon.
Merry Christmas.

Nice to see a post from you -- your scrappy designs are always an inspiration. On the contrary, for me having the internet, email, blogging, Facebook have been the way to maintain contact. The organizations I'm in are all meeting by Zoom or other platforms. Things still need to get done and we're figuring out how to do them differently.
