Kitchen sink

I know it's Christmas Eve and blog-land is pretty much closed down, but I don't want to take another couple of weeks/months off so I am blogging into the void.

I was still tinkering around with coins and medallions and I couldn't get something I liked.  Being in a "throw the kitchen sink at it" kind of mood I made some little house blocks and mixed them in.

On the right,

or maybe on the left?
Or make a few more and use them on both sides.
It turns out I'm also adding in blunt sawtooth bits and pieces.  At least with all these bits and pieces I won't get bored!

You are making speedy progress with this quilt, Kaja. I love the addition of the houses. There's so much to look at and see in what you've shown. I really like the green and gold striped fabric you used in a triangle on the left and top borders and on one of the houses. I don't know why it caught my eye but it did. Delightful!
I hope you have a great Christmas, if you celebrate, and that you stay healthy.

I realize you are making a 2020 quilt. The houses for staying at home. The birds because all the wild animals are coming out again since we've been staying in. And the Coins for either the money we are spending to fight the virus or the money we are saving because we aren't going anywhere. Can't wait to see what else you add!
Merry Christmas. Stay safe.

I'm back, too! And I'm thrilled to see this new start. You've gotten rather far along and are making beautiful decisions. I love the bird fabric. It's interesting that you can turn the birds 90 degrees and they still make sense. The bird houses are adorable. You can try for other bird elements, feeders, nests, trees and shrubs. (In my happy mood I may have gone a little too out there with the ideas.)
Merry Christmas, Kaja, and a wonderful 2021 to you and yours!

Missed this post!! Or at least I think I saw it but forget to write a comment, however I can now say how exciting this is, those little patched houses are beautiful, such a good idea to add those.
