I am soooo rusty. No one to blame but myself, of course, but this is going to be a quilt of stops and starts.
I kicked off thinking that maybe I would head towards, if not an actual medallion then something in that neighbourhood. Though this start looks more like Chinese Coins.
So maybe this is a Coin Medallion, if that is a thing.Maybe this? I don't have many birds though, so maybe I won't use them all this early in a quilt. Decisions, decisions. Medallion? Coins? Maybe I want another element. Maybe it's too early to tell. I shall try very hard to get on with it and not fuss too much.

Coin medallions are a thing but I know you will make something wonderful. Have a good time getting back into the swing of quilting. Best wishes to you and your family this Christmas.
Take your time and enjoy the journey back;)))
I love those birds--so pretty...hugs from afar Julierose
It has to feel good to play with fabric again. The birds as a focus fabric look cool! It may take a little time to get going, but getting going is the hardest part. The rest will fall into place; just give it time and enjoy. I wish you and your family a blessed, safe, and wonderful holiday season!
What a creative start, all those different elements. I'm just always fascinated by what you put together. Hope you're having fun while you're at it.
Coins are one of my favorite go-to designs. Medallions frustrate me more because they tend to be square and I prefer rectangles. You will figure it out - I am not at all worried!
A coin medallion, what an exciting idea Kaja, no doubt you will add and take away which I find so interesting and enjoyable to see. Love the birds!
