Still scrappy, but a bit bigger

This week I've made another set of blue shirt stripes, but it looks pretty much exactly like the first one, so I didn't bother with a photo.  I'm saving it until I've got several months worth, then I'm thinking I might do some slicing.  I''m also saving some of my little blue squares, but I took one set and had a go at combining them with the shirts.  Looks like this:

There's lots more blue on display at ScrapHappy Saturday.

So many happy scraps. Even happier as a block than they were apart.

It's amazing how little mighty craps can come together to form a block, then a quilt! Keep up the good work - using shirting scraps is inspired!

I'm really going to enjoy watching your scraps become blocks - what a lot of fun happening here!

Fun to see you making the shirting strip sets ... just keep stitching!

Smashing and quite wonderful the way different patterns paly with each other nicely like that!
I adore using scraps to make a new fabric and it then has a provenance all of its very own.

I'd say the combo of scraps and shirt stripes looks fine. If you are having fun with it, that's all that matters... along with USING those scraps!!

It's just hilarious how we quilters first make scraps, then spend time and energy turning the scraps into fabric so that we can slice into it again. It's no wonder people think we're a little off! Definitely you chose some shirts with perfect blues for this project. Like everyone else I'm anxious to see it all come together. I have no doubt that the end result will be stunning since the beginning is so pretty. I really should cut into some of those blue fabrics I've been hoarding.

Lovely result; I like the surprise of the square in amongst the shirt stripes.

Love the 25 patch in with the strippy pieces.

A clever way of combining the two groups of blues. Keep up the good work!

I like men's shirts used in anything. Kind of reminds me of grandma making quilts out of old clothes - just like comfort foods I guess there's comfort quilts!

I really like all those blue shirtings, Kaja! I am trying so hard not to start collecting a whole new class of fabrics like that too. But I admit, I was at the thrift store last fall!

Great composition and contrast. Classic utilitarian.

Oh. I've been saving my husband's shirts and need to start making them into a quilt. Yours is inspirational! Love the mix of shirts and squares.

I love this project Kaja - looking at the scraps all over my desk I think maybe I should join in!
