Still circling

Slow but steady here.  I decided to focus on getting some stuff out of the way, so have made a back for the next top I'll be quilting; I got up to date with my 365 circles; I've even tidied up a bit.  And I'm moving on with my stripy circles.

I have sewed a few into slightly larger units: one big circle, three small ones - they are laid out like this so I could get them in one photos not because this is a layout I am considering.

Why do things always look so creasy in my pictures?  Well I know the answers to that: sometimes I have been carrying bits around, so they start off nice and smooth but get creased along the way; sometimes I have inadvertently plonked stuff down on top of them (one of the hazards if your way of working is on the messy side) and sometimes I get too excited and just sew without even thinking about my iron.  To be honest I don't notice so much in real life, but the camera really seems to show me up.Ho hum.

I've also made a nice little pile of medium sized bits.

It's quite nice and undemanding making all these circles, but I'm going to have to step up soon and start thinking about how they go together.  Maybe just another day or two or pottering first!

I'm loving that minty green and rich blue in the fabrics. Looking forward to seeing what you do end up doing on the layout!

Are you using Kaffe fabrics did you say, your stripes remind me of his delicious colours?
I really, really like your smaller squares as almost pathways between the larger circles in your layout.
I might pinch your idea on my next circle lap quilt, but I must stitch my first 64 blocks together I suppose - although I'm itching to get stuck into some more!

Love your circles. I make circles too, but I've not thought about how to join them yet. Have a nice weekend!

The coming together of the parts will come when you are ready. For now, enjoy the non-demanding making of circles

My pictures always point out where I forget to iron, all the little threads etc. Just the way it is when the work in ongoing.:) Love seeing your gorgeous circles!

I love where your circles are going, so many setting possibilities with those minis mixed in.

I love your stripe circles . And the one time I tried it wasn't relaxing , the circle was all over the place

I love the mix of small and bigger circles - very effective. I agree that photographs always bring out the un-ironed-ness of fabrics!!

These are so gorgeous Kaja - and the pile of medium ones look perfectly ironed to me! (Iron? What's an iron?) I really love the way you've made blocks with 1+3 and look forward to seeing what you do with them next :)
