It's all about the denim again today

Now that I'm accepting that I have become one of those people with multiple projects on the go, I'm going to try and be better at keeping track of them all, so...

Inner City is underway, but I'll wait until I've quilted more than 5 square inches before I start taking photos.

My daily circles are going well - I am actually managing most of the time to do one a day, so no worrying backlog.  Currently I have this:

and this:

The days where there an extra colour sneaks in along with the blue are ones where there is something particular I want to note - either something personal or something more general that for personal reasons means a lot to me.  Hence the purple strip is for 11th November, Armistice Day, the two little black ones mark the death of the wonderful Jonah Lomu, who at his best was so great all you could do was laugh with joy.

I am loving this project, and have been toying with the idea of running more than one version of it - so many ideas - but can't decide whether that would be overkill.  Do you like the way I move seamlessly from worrying that I have too much on the go to piling on more?

I have also made good progress with the denim - although I am running short of threads.  Luckily I am leaving bigger spaces unstitched as I head towards the edges so am hopeful I'll scrape home.

Finally a reminder that the next Ad Hoc Improv Quilters link up is this coming Tuesday, 24 November and that you can link up here or at Ann's.  What have you been thinking about this month?

I love that you've come to admit that you are one to have more than one project on the go! Welcome to the huge number of us in the same boat!

Good progress this week.

All these blue on blue shades are really nice. This will be another of your wonderful, textural projects!

I've found that despite my best intentions, I just cannot stick to more than one scheduled project at a time. More than one project, yes, but only one on a schedule. So you know what my advice would be!

Wow, so many pretty denim projects! I am looking forward to seeing the progress on the circles.

I love how you have "seamlessly" moved from worrying about too many projects, to dreaming of new ones to start!
Great circle ideas!

I think that adding small touches of pattern or color to the circles to denote specific events is a really great idea. I have also given up on thinking about being a one project at a time person, and when several projects finish in a row, it can be really satisfying.

I love the fact that you go seamlessly from worrying about the fact that you have too much on the go to piling more on. It's how I run too.

It must be hard to work with the denim for hand stitching. What a sturdy quilt it will make.

Terrific idea to use denim - and to make it more of a calendar quilt too is fun. Thank you for sharing.

I don't understand why anyone would ever WANT to limit themself to only one project at a time. Working on multiple projects allows you to be more creative because when the ideas for one project bog down you do not have to force yourself to keep going. You can work on something else until inspiration strikes again. At least that's how I have slways approached quilting!

I second SGB above - I have a set of see through drawers and five are presently designated to current projects. Your denim piece is looking so lovely Kaja, those little pops of pinks and the thread colours are just the icing on the cake!

Love how you are diving into the deep end with the multiple projects.:) Your wobbly circles are melting my heart and as always I remain in awe of the wonderful texture created by your stitching. Thinking, thinking, thinking about Ad Hoc Improv.!

I noticed you didn't even draw a breath between "too many projects" and "running more than one version." I love it! And I love those circles. You've really got this denim thing going. I'm curious about the Inner City project, too, guess I'll have to be patient for a while with that one.
Have a great week!

Lovely progress on both of these projects! I like that your circles are different sizes - they look very effective. And the idea of adding another colour on noteable days makes it even more "journal" like. Fingers crossed you have enough thread for the denim :-)

Lots of threads here that might work. Have a rummage next time you're down.

Me too! I am doing the Quilty 365 project too, and am worrying about having too many projects and still wanting to add on more and more and more. Love your denim circles - I made a cathedral windows denim circle quilt, and this brings a whole new take on the subject. I have lots of leftover denim . . .
