One chunk, two chunks

I still  haven't hit any sort of rhythm with this top, though to be fair last week was unlikely to be the time when that happened.  I do however have a chunk I like.
I am now working on a second piece, using something I have unpicked half of, to see if I can revive it without more unpicking.
I don't envisage it sitting in its current position; that's just the clear piece of floor.  In fact, one of the things causing me issues with this is that I can build little sections I like without too much difficulty but I can't for the life of me figure out how to connect them in a way that pleases me.

A couple of people have commented about the white fabric.  I should explain that it is actually a shirt with a fine dark (probably black) stripe, so is not as glaring and naked as it looks in the photos.  Why the stripes don't show up, I don't know but in real life it has a different effect entirely.

I see an owl face at the top of the chunk you like and a happy cat in the second chunk. I'm wondering if the connecting pieces need a bit more movement; improv pieced diagonal lines inserted into squares to liken to the string block and the tulip branches?

I love watching your progress. So far so good on this one!

I like how those 3 string blocks on the top part form a kind of circular area--that drew my eye right off. ;))) and I also like all the tulips in a row on the bottom...perhaps rows of tulips could be the coping areas?
Have fun playing hugs mid-week, Julierose

The black strips are giving that haphazard, using what I have look that you do so well. Making the chunks with a different number of rows works. Maybe some chunks that are narrower would work too. I think you have hit a sweet chord!

The spacing and the larger chunks are giving all the strings some room to breathe. Now we can see the tulips, too. Keep it up.

Love your latest exciting quilt xo

Yes there is more space to breathe but for me it's still too busy. I would add more of the brownish fabric which is the background for the tulips. An exciting process isn't it? Love to watch your progress.

So not what I was expecting, but then, it looks exactly like a direction that you would choose! The space is working wonders for the tulip blocks!

It's amazing as to what the eye can see with each of your chunks. You are always playing, always experimenting, always thinking. I can always be certain that when I visit you there will be another example of your creative mind, quite different from what was before.
