A lighthouse moment

No movement on my sugar and spice quilt, but I finished the last of the cushion (or pillow) covers that I started last summer.  Or rather I thought I had finished but now that I look at it on the screen I am thinking I'll go back and add some stitching to the light.

My intention is to make some more of these; I have at least one more lighthouse quilt in my head, but I rather enjoy picking a single lighthouse - this one is South Foreland.
The back is a shirt.
It all needs a good iron, but of course I don't know where my iron is.

Pretty pillow cover! The fabric at the bottom looks like spring grass and flowers.

at least you have an iron. I don't think my son or daughter in law own an iron.

Super all around; the hand quilting, the blues, the bird fabric and your interpretation.
But no iron! Life does have it's trials, I know you'll get thru' it. I'm looking forward to seeing more of your light house projects.

I haven't a clue where my iron is. =) This is a fun cushion. Love the shirt as the backing. How clever as the closing is already done.

I think I asked before but hope these are all going on the same couch or at least the same room. What a glorious set of pillows. Definitely smart to use the shirt front with buttons as the closure of your pillow.
Your grass choice hints at dune grasses. Good choice. And the birds seem like all the seagulls I ever see, bombing the beach to get food scraps.
My daughter is bugging me to make some like this for her.

I love the bird swarm round the lighthouse. Someone on the beach must have been having a snack. Not that that’s ever happened to me. Ha! The back of the cover is delightful with the button band for the closure. I have a full size iron and a travel iron, but more and more I find myself using a roller on seams and waiting to iron till I’m done with a block or project. It’s too much of a pain getting out the iron and it gets too hot in the room where I use it. So your not having a clue where your iron is doesn’t faze me at all.

how much summer fun is this? I like using the shirt buttons for the pillow back, you're clever. People on the street should take care you don't cut the shirt off their backs!

This is beautiful. Makes me think about the sea and a summer breeze.
