A bit of binding

Today I am starting to bind Taking Flight, which feels like a big achievement right now. In fact, I shall see if I can take a couple of days over it, just to prolong that feeling of satisfaction at nearly reaching an end.
I am also thinking a lot about piecing, but not doing any.

I hope you savor the final stitches; it's definitely one of my favorite parts of quilting!

I admire your hand quilting and how it finishes your quilts so perfectly. Enjoy the binding and getting a long, close look and feel of your art. Looking forward to seeing it again when you get there.

Love how you are taking time to think out your next project; I am trying to scale back and do smaller items...seasonal runners for chests etc.; but when I get "on a roll" making blocks, I cannot seem to stop...hugs, Julierose

I love the picture of this quilt. I'm glad you enjoy doing the binding. I tend to be in a hurry at this point of the project and can't wait for it to be done. Maybe I should slow down like you do and just enjoy the process.

I can't wait for the final photo op of this quilt. Well, I haven't been around lately, so I owe you a long, catch up with all your doings, kind of visit. It's coming. Strange how I had quite a lot of time on my hands and could have read blogs all day long while sick, but I just didn't seem to have it in me. I think I'm back, though not firing on all engines. Perhaps enough to maintain a little blogging.

The post with the last photo of your latest piecing has me wowed! I love what you've done with those stripes. You have to get back to that one. It's going to be a fantastic finish!

Nice hand stitching Kaja, and the color of your binding gives a good finish.

It really is bittersweet to work on the binding for certain quilts. The end of our journey with that particular quilt so to speak! I'm so glad you have a little bit of quilting to focus on with everything else going on. Hope you're making a few notes of your piecing dreams for future reminders!:)

It is a joy to work on our quilts at a slower pace so we have time to relish them and the process.

Lovely colour and print for the binding, Kaja! Very soft and airy, perfect for Taking Flight.

the last few stitches, and a deep breath. The best bit. I am reading your blogs in reverse order. I love the finish!
