Repetitive action

Now that this is the only top I am properly working on, I am hoping to make some progress, though of this morning things looked like this.

I realise that if nothing changes I am going to be making a lot of HSTs.  I will try not to post lots of pictures which all look the same, but it's a fair bet that any regular readers need to tighten their seatbelts and prepare for some whinging.  It's a question for me to ponder: why do I commit to projects which require me to make lots of bits the same when I know full well that this will make me bored and grumpy somewhere down the line?  Maybe when I get bored enough it will be the impetus to change things about.  Who knows?

Isn't it strange how we find ourselves doing what we said we wouldn't? Well your parts look intriguing...will be watching to see how they all play together....hugs, Julierose

You have gotten so good at making HSTs that you can't quit even when you try!

I'm strapped in and ready for the ride. I look forward to seeing a wide variety of sizes and play as you work on this one. :)

Feel happy to whinge. Being a mother of 3 I have had a lot of experience in listening to whinging

haha Love it, hate it! No one ever said that every single thing about quilting was fun.:) I think it's our dedication to continuing on in spite of the tedious parts that makes us true quilters!

We like that repetition when the quilt is done but it is sometimes tough getting there. I rarely prefer big squares of fabric or samplers. Looking at your work, neither do you. It will be fun to see where this one goes.

Blue is a great color, color of ocean, river and sky.
I'm sure there'll be a good story behind your quilt.

I love blue, I love HSTs, I'll be following along too!

My favorite color, my least favorite block if there are many to be made. Oh wait, that's any repetitive block. Ha! My only suggestion is to break the monotony up but I haven't have a clue with what. I'm going to see how you handle it and maybe steal an idea from your book. Enjoy those blue HSTs--they are pretty!

And when the repetition gets boring I get moving on to some other project and go back to repetition later! That's part of why I have so many UFOs. I do have to admit that I do love a lot of one block quilts though.
