Yellow birds in the frame

Well still not much piecing going on here.  Fortunately it's Sunday and I have at least been doing some quilting, so here's a quick peek at the start of Yellow Birds.

Linking up with Kathy for Slow Sunday Stitching.

Hand quilting adds a softness that is rarely achieved with a machine.

I'm so happy to see you are hand quilting this gorgeous top. It is so deserving of the time and texture of hand quilting.

Yummy. I agree with Carla; your stitches bring the quilt to life.

I adore that photo and the texture it shows! Makes me want to get my hoop out and get quilting!

I'm sure I've said it before, but it bears repeating . . . your hand work is beautiful!

I love this quilt. It isn't in colors I normally put together and you have arranged it to set off the colors (and the bird fabric) expertly. Your hand quilting really shines on this quilt. So so nice!

Looks like progress to me! I like the outline quilting on the bird fabric. Is your quilting all freeform or do you mark some parts?

Your quilting looks fantastic. I do especially like the way you are quilting around the details in the bird fabric. Are you quilting with a pearl cotton or just regular hand quilting thread?

Lovely stitching.

Beautiful colors. Love anything with little birdies.

Ah, you smart girl! Just a tease...and it's gone. I'm hoping it will be back soon. Your idea to outline the details and follow the flying geese blocks works beautifully. Okay now, stop teasing and get quilting so you can show us more of that quilt!
