First pass at the sun

I am posting from my phone for the first time ever, so this may or may not work,  but let's give it a go.

I've done several quilts in a row that used not only similar shapes (chunky wedges) but also a similar approach (broadly speaking the medallion). I'm not sure whether I'm done with the edge but have decided to have a  play with some curves this time round.

This is my first attempt.
I am thinking,  I guess,  of the sun and sunflowers, but mostly,  as ever,  just trying to find shapes and colour combinations that please my eye.

And here's a second block. I can see that there is s hint of a chunky wedge here,  but what can you do?  It's clearly not going quietly.

I've been mulling over a similar block shape so I really admire how your free-hand version. The variety of values makes these pop. Clever idea to add an eye; the lens shape!

Posting from your phone seems to have worked well, hopefully it was easy enough and not too frustrating. I think the combination of those slight wedges with your curves is going to be a lot of fun to explore!

Such fun blocks. I've never dared to post by telephone yet, you're brave.

Good choice of colors and prints. Your arcs remind me of the 'melons' in the Double Wedding Ring block.

Nothing better than a chunky wedge! It is my go to border on t-shirt quilts and for sashing. Your curve chunky wedges remind me of a wedding ring quilt. The chunky wedge mixed with the plaids is a great combination!
