Kicking off the next quilt. I pulled these shirts, just because they pleased me.
I have it in mind that I would like to try adding some denim into a quilt and these seem like they might work. Three shirts, though, isn't enough for a whole quilt, even with a load of denim added in, so I found a few more bits.
I started with some random wedge-y bits. This was my first go at putting them together. Don't like it much. Correction, I do like the individual chunks,(3 of them) but not the way they look here. I added the scraps of black floral and while I think they will do a job for me, the piece across the bottom is somehow too heavy and lacking in movement. Luckily it will be easy to separate them again.
I should probably have made more pieces before I started sewing things into bigger bits, but I just wasn't feeling very patient. I have learned my lesson. On the bright side, I do like how they work with the denim. It's early days, of course, so some wins and some hiccups is neither here nor there. I shall just keep going and see what comes of it.

Oh, I really like this palette and think that the denim is going to play very nicely with the shirts!
Loving that stripey fabric with the flowers...you find the nicest shirts...looking forward to seeing how this one comes together...;)))

I like the colors and fabrics right off the bat. It'll be fun to see where things go from here.
The denim & floral combo is great. The stripes & floral combo equally works well. And the pink too! You are off to a great start that's for sure. Oh, and I've just spotted that check shirt, this is going to be sew interesting! {Wish I could work like this}
Love the textures and the colors. I had to look twice at the one shirt - checked on top and striped at the bottom - very cool and will add interest with less work.
I really like the combination of those beautiful florals and the stripes. It will be fun to watch this quilt grow.
The black backgrounded daisy print seems to demand a lot of attention. This is going to be a challenge but you always figure it out and come up with intriguing and interesting combinations. Look forward to following along with this.
You find the most interesting shirts. I'm always intrigued by your choices. I see what you mean about the bottom row.
What a great start!
Off to an exciting start! Experiments are important in the process, otherwise how do you even know if you'll like it?
Sew slowly and experiment much.
I so admire how you start with sewing little pieces and then add them until they are larger pieces, developing your theme or vibe all along the way! These fabrics are VERY appealing.:)
