Saturday photos revisited

I used to enjoy making a weekly photo collage, until I suddenly didn't any more.  Soma at Whims and Fancies has just relaunched her monthly photo link up, Wandering Camera, so I thought I'd have a go at joining in - should be able to manage one a month!

Last week I was in a butterfly house, taking lots of photos, trying to catch the split second when the little beggars stop moving.  I didn't do too badly.  When I looked at the pictures afterwards the thing that struck me was how well each butterfly camouflages itself - there were flowers and foliage of all shapes and colours, but look how neatly they have blended in.

Oh how wonderful to be with all those pretty butterflies. They do camouflage beautifully with the plants, don't they. The black and blue butterfly looks amazing against the blue salvia.

Thanks for pointing out the camouflage aspects. That black butterfly is just magic.

I'm glad to know that Soma has revived Wandering Camera. Your photos show the camouflage so well, and it's interesting to me that you noticed it after you took the pictures.

Thanks for sharing your butterfly photos, fun opportunity.
They don't stay still for long do they?
I think they don't want to make it too easy for predators.

I have a friend who raises Monarch butterflies. She has helped bring at least 20 into the world. Your pictures are a lovely reminder of the beauty of nature. That green and black one is stunning!

I struggled to find the butterfly in the pic with the striped background. Your picture collages are always striking.

They are amazingly camouflaged. I haven't visited a butterfly pavilion in a couple of years but your photos remind me what delightful places they are to visit.

Beautiful butterflies. Really liked the black and green one. You are right, I would not have noticed how well they camouflaged themselves without the photos. I have missed your Saturday photos, so glad you shared these.
Thanks so much for linking up on Wandering Camera.

That's a lovely collage you put together. Taking photos of butterflies is definitely an exercise in patience. :-)
