I am still stitching away at my denim. I had left some gaps - bits which I didn't stitch, to see if I liked the contrast between the plain denim and the decorated but it wasn't quite working for me, so now I have gone back and am adding little patches.
On and off I wonder where this piece is going to end up but I am coming to the conclusion that it seems to be more about playing and learning than making something specific. It still sparks ideas for me all the time, and I guess one or more of them may lead somewhere, but for the time being I'll just stitch if I want to stitch, patch if I want to patch, and, just this once, not worry about where I'm going.

that is a lot of stitches when going through denim, how big of a piece is this?
I'm still enjoying what you do with the denim. Very beautiful work which reminds me of the 60's.
Isn't that a fabulous way to work/stitch/drive/live?!?!
ENJOY!
My youngest son (age 31) just gave me a pair of jeans he wants patched that don't really look "patchable"....but you never know...they may end up looking like your denim or something I wore in the 70s! He might not want them back!
I'm glad you are fun experimenting with this piece. I do like the patches!
Sometimes it's important just to look at and feel the beauty of a piece of fabric. You know I love this one.
Hooray for just having fun and experimenting. It is going in a lovely direction.
Nice experimenting. Will lead to some future beautiful projects!
I haven't visited enough! I know this because I haven't seen the denim in a while. Your stitches make an interesting pattern, as always. So glad you're enjoying the process and play. And thrilled to see the denim again. It's really looking good. I love the colorful additions of the patches.
The best way, not worrying about where we're going! Love your stitching so very much!
The way you cut the patches off-center is interesting. I'm afraid I would have centered both; your method looks much better.
What a relaxing way to work - and the result is great, especially with those tiny patches.
I took some classes with Gwen Marston. She would call this Liberated. Sew on!
Nice to just play sometimes - I think we don't do enough of it!
Love what you are doing but my sewing machine would rebel big time
The warm colours of the threads and patches look wonderful. Have fun playing!

Playing without an end goal is the best experience Kaja!
Loving how the patches and stitches look together on the jeans fabric!
