Where is Little Elephant heading?

I thought I knew the answer to this question.  I had got in a good chunk of time working on him and he currently looks like this:

(As an aside, I must come up with a better solution for photos than me standing on the table, quilt on the floor, but once they get beyond a certain size I can't get them onto my design wall.)

Now, I was pretty happy with my progress, then I got a call from my mum to say she had just visited the person from whom she bought little elephant and was about to send me two more panels (a rhino and another elephant).  This is really kind of her but leaves me with a dilemma: do I try to incorporate them into what I've done already, or do I carry on?  I have decided at least to wait until they arrive to make the call, but my fingers will be itching while I wait!

While I wait I'm linking up with Lets Bee Social and WIP Wednesday .

What a lovely and dynamic WIP! Maybe rhino and second elephant will belong on the back? Perhaps little elephant is calling for them?

Fabulous work so far. If you proceed you can always use the panels on the back. Thanks for sharing. Marie (mlismore@optusnet.com.au)

Such a wonderful piece! I see now what the circles in your sketch meant. And the stars come and go well, too. Love the way you've incorporated solid and print fabric.
This is how I worked for years. I now have a big design wall but no room to step back and take good photos since the room is too small.

Argh...how long until they arrive??? I hope it's a short wait. Let the toe-tapping begin. *tap, tap, tap, tap, tap*
Are they there yet?
I like the idea of working them into the back of the quilt if you just can't wait!

Yeah that would drives me nuts waiting but it's probably for the best just in case they fit in!

I know where Little Elephant is headed Kaja. To a quilt show for a prize!
Yes, that would be hard to wait, but the other two animals might be perfect.

I would see if I could incorporate the new animals in. I think I would try to put one white backed animal in each column (at varying heights). New fabric is always a nice dilemma to have though, no matter what you decide!

It's so cute! I'd have to wait, also....the curiosity would kill me! Then I'd let Little Elephant tell me what he wants.

I'm going to give it a go and yes, new fabric is always a good thing :-)
