Sunday Stash # 4

No fabric, but look at my lovely pincushion! I just won this in a giveaway to celebrate the first year anniversary of LeeAnna's blog, Not Afraid of Color.  If you haven't visited it, go have a look, it's one of my favourites; she really isn't afraid of colour and has a great, often quirky, take on things.

I love a good pincushion and not only because they're useful.  Thanks LeeAnna - it's been put straight to use, as you can see and I'm showing it off over at Molli Sparkles.

How lovely! Though I always prefer them with thousands of pins in so they look like colourful little hedgehogs. :)

Thanks for your comment on my blog. That is exactly the way I feel myself, and whenever I start to (make myself) feel I 'have' to blog, I lose the joy in it and it becomes just another chore, like you said.

Congratulations on the win! Such a cute pincushion.I've been wanting to try paper piecing hexies myself (have been seeing them all over lately) and this looks like the perfect type of little project to start with.

Give me time. This had only arrived 5 minutes earlier and I was in a hurry to get it properly equipped.

It was fun to win something. I reckon it would be a perfect place to start with paper piecing - good luck.

Kaja, I've found that if it has a bit of weight a good pincushion can also serve as a pattern weight so they don't fly while you're working. (I have fans going all over the place because my hot flashes hit like a freight train.) So anyway, this one looks like it could do double duty and how fancy is that? It surely is creative and lucky for you.

First thing I've ever won in a blogland giveaway. :-)

Hey Mary, I tend to have the door into the garden open, which has pretty much the same effect as a load of fans. A pincushion with multiple uses can only be a good thing!
