And just like that...

This one is done (if only my quilting was progressing in a similar fashion).  I ran out of virtually all my original fabrics and the, to continue the theme, of most of my replacements, though to be fair they were only very small scraps.  If I had more I might have made this just a tiny bit bigger, but I haven't, so I'm calling it a finish.  And I'm fine with that, because I like this a lot.
Sadly I still can't get a really good photo that shows the fabrics off, but this is the best I could manage.  Maybe once it's quilted I'll do some close-ups.

The hourglasses in this are a nod to the latest AHIQ challenge, though I am going to do something more hourglass-y next, or that's the plan.  In the meantime, though, on with the quilting.

It looks great; I don't see a jarring change where you had to substitute in the new fabrics at all (although I'm sure it's very clear to you). Are you going to focus on quilting for a while now?

Perfect! And, oh what fun to nearly run out of fabric. That is the best a quilt can get!

Oh wow, all those itty bitty scraps and your clever imagination have resulted in a fabulous quilt top. Love the little hour glass pretties dotted here and there.

Oh wow Kaja! This quilt looks amazing. Love the long runs of dark color against the lighter areas and those random hourglass blocks are perfect. Great finish!!

What a wonderful quilt. Simple blocks sewn together with thought and joy. Love the few hourglasses tucked in here and there. Using shirts for their fabric makes such a difference to the look of your work. Congratulations.

A fantastic finish with the quilt top!! You did make it with the fabrics you had on hand and just the odd fabric addition here and there. I think it's a perfect size Kaja.

Love, love, love this quilt! Years ago when I took a workshop with the Gees Bend quilters one of the ladies asked me what I was going to do when I ran out of the fabric I was using. The fabric was old shirts which is what we were suppose to bring for the workshop. I told her I will stop and that will be the size the quilt top will be. She approved and said that is what they would do.

A wonderful finish! I love the little random hourglass blocks. I've been quietly collecting shirts and a few dresses from my neice - she loves the 'vintage' look - but have no idea what to do with them yet! Have you given this quilt a name?

I love the result. Spotted some windmills too? Very nice harmonic colors.
