I think I've mentioned before that I am not the world's most patient person. Actually I know I've mentioned it before. I'm still plugging away at The Shipping Forecast and finally had a piece long enough for the left hand border. The sensible thing would have been to wait until I had finished piecing across the bottom, but I didn't want to wait, I wanted instant gratification. Nothing for it then but a load of completely gratuitous partial seams. I am telling myself this is good practice, but in truth it's just giving in to my character flaws.
Looks good though, I think.
The next time you see this is will be a completed top.

Fabulous! The left border is great! And the rest too!
I never tire of seeing this quilt. If it were mine I would hang it up to so I could watch the waves and ponder. It's very soothing somehow.
I like the subtle line this addition makes. You can see the border. Open ocean but contained if that makes sense.
So, so lovely.
It does look good! I can't believe you are not a patient person; a non-patient person should have toss those HSTs in the trash long ago! The top is coming along beautifully!
Wow if you are not a patient person, the rest of us don't have a chance! The border makes me think of water washing over the shore. Beautiful!
When I put the Daily Bird together last weeek or so, I had a ton of partial seams. The obvious never occruured to me when was having fun giving the birds all stories! Shipping Forecast is really an amazing quilt.
Nothing like a little SPELLCHECK --- is there?
I love this quilt!
It's your quilt, work any way you like. The border looks great. Your hand piece AND hand quilt, that makes you a very patient person :)

This is a great work of triangles isn't it? Lovely job, have enjoyed watching and reading about your progress.
I am glad you are waving and not drowning, to misquote the poem. Lots of waving going on in your quilt, some real movement going on there.
