Storing up trouble

As promised I went away and made more triangles, and refilled the gap up in the top left-hand corner.  This time I just used triangles instead of including a little lob cabin block.  I can't quite decide if I like this or not, but if I change my mind it's easy enough to rework.  I think once I've got things straight on the other side, though, that it will look fine as it is.

And here's a quick look at the bigger picture, so to speak.

As yet I haven't sewn many of these chunks together.  That's because what is pleasing to my eye will be a bit of a nightmare to piece - lots of partial seams and so on, but I am trying not to think about that yet, since I really need to get the whole lot done before I can work out the best order to sew in.  There may, though, be a week of blog silence at some point soon while I go off and bang my head against a wall somewhere.

In the meantime I've gone back over to the right-hand side of things and am playing around with this.

Since it's Friday I'm linking up with NinaMarie for Off the Wall.

The addition of the triangles is spot on!

I like those triangles set in the striped shirtings a lot--nice echo of the others, I think...
And speaking of banging your head against the wall--well, learning about that here very quickly...;(((..ooohhh the pain..hahaha
I am need of an "AH-HA" moment ...
Am taking your advice and sewing coin strips and not looking too far ahead...hugs, Julierose

I have to say you certainly are not taking the easy route by adding more triangles instead of more half log cabins!

Choices, decisions! The drama! This is fun seeing it come together.
But don't bang your poor head against a wall. It'll come to you at the
right time. Your quilts always turn out great.

It may not be an easy route, but looks wonderful, Kaja!

Well, I just love it, so I hope it won't be too painful to finish!

I am glad you posted the up close and personal photo: it shows off the triangle bits. I love the whole thing but the triangles are my favorite. I keep thinking of tiny little bunting hanging from those log cabins.
And an FYI: head banging must be done on hard rock only and will always result in the worst of headaches. I haven't figured out if it's the banging or the rock music that cause the pain, but I'm fairly certain both contribute.

No head banging permitted!
However I do understand that challenge of getting the pieces to fit!

You know what just occurred to me in looking at this today with all your little triangles? Semaphore signaling!

I agree. The triangles give it a sense of signal flags blowing in the wind. They are just glints of color, but really give the areas a lot of life.

So much to see and so much to say here . Every time you work in a new quilt I say it's my favourite but this one really is . I love the blend of colours and shapes and patterns

The little triangles add a lot of interest andmake it look really individual. But I think it's really a combo of color, print changes and triangles that make it really pretty and fun!
