Smaller tops are quicker to quilt

Okay, I'm sure you've all figured that one out for yourselves, but I just lay Build Me a Wall out to take a quick photo and saw that somehow it is about three-quarters done.  This is a lovely surprise, but then it is about half the size of the last few things I've quilted, so if I'd engaged my brain I might have guessed it.

It looks like this.

I absolutely love it! I had the same surprise with my own quilt this morning. It's not terribly big and I'm trying out big stitching with perle cotton for the first time. When I laid it out, I saw that I'm almost done!

You'll be finished with the quilting before you know it. It is gorgeous.

Wow, you are moving right along. Small or not, it is always fun to know that good progress is being made. :)

Very nice! I have a small piece in a big hoop, and am trying my first ever big-stitching with perle on it. I have made some progress, but now am motivated to work on it more this very afternoon! I love the colors and surprises in Build Me A Wall.

ha! I like how the hoop adds an element of focus! Reminds me of the time I showed a quilt I was hand quilting to my niece, on the hoop, safety pin basted and she said something like "I like the punk quilt look with all those pins"

I love the colors in your quilt...it's very lovely. How exciting to realize you are more than half finished! Those are the best kind of little surprises. :)

I love it whenever one of your tops makes an appearance. I've lost track of how many quilts you have in the queue, but it seems like your quilting might be catching up to your piecing?? And I wonder, do you get kind of obsessed when you get near the end of a project?

This looks better every time I see it. You chose a good quilting design for this, too. I know what you mean, though. The small quilts can be finished so much more quickly and easily than bed quilts. Enjoy the finish.

Oh wow! Loving your stitching texture! It's a wonderful feeling that moment when you realize you're farther along in the quilting than what you thought.:)

Finally getting around to visiting the Slow Sunday Stitching links...
OMG I love that photo... I took a long time looking at every part of the wonderful texture you are creating with your stitches. Drool worthy for a hand stitcher :)

I'm always surprising myself with things like this, although it is usually the other way around - "really I have that much more to go?" I look forward to seeing your finished quilt.
