Pondering

I am sticking to my decision to slow down, and am still catching up on my 365 circles, though I am nearly there.  When I am up-to-date I am going to lay them all out and decide what next.  The options are to just keep going, or to start working on turning what I have into something (I think if I took this route I would try to keep doing a circle a day, but maybe with a different slant).  As yet the jury's out on this one.

In the meantime, I have been playing around with the charm squares which have been stored in the box where I keep the circle fabrics - just exploring colour combinations.

I like this:

and these

Maybe one of them will turn into something.  In the meantime, I guess this is where I need to start figuring out how I keep track of this sort of stuff!

I use photos and my blog to document a lot. I could see saving these in my "color palette" directory for future inspiration, personally. :)

Color is a journey isn't it? I'm glad you enjoy it like I do!

Beautiful colours, Kaja!! Are they just cotton? I like the texture on them.

I like how the Schott cottons seem to go well with lots of different choices. I think you did well picking out the different palettes. I'll watch to see what you do with them, but if you're like me, sometimes just picking them all out is enough. Working with color soothes our souls.

Enjoy your pondering Kaja . Sometimes the pondering is half the fun

Playing with colors and pondering is one of the most fun parts of quilting, so I hope you are enjoying it immensely! Love your color combinations Kaja!

I guess I'm so predictable -- I like the third set with all the greens best. Last year I was all against "safe" colourways, but this year I'm wondering if a consistent style may be a good thing? Anyway, I do agree with Helen Jean -- sometimes the pondering is half the fun!

What a joy to just touch fabrics all day! Way more fun than writing a post, so thanks for taking photos.

You're doing so much better than I ever do. I just grab and go! You play and ponder and pick carefully. It seems like such fun but very calming. Maybe we should all do that just a little more. These are pretty combos and any one will make great Quilty 360 circles!
