Coming up for air

Well that was not a lot of fun; I can't remember the last time I didn't even pick up a needle for two weeks.  I'm slowly getting back into things now, though that is presenting its own challenges.  I am finding that the enforced break has slightly thrown me off my stride, so when I went back and looked at this:

which had just been sitting on the floor where I left it, I wasn't very happy with it, though I couldn't put my finger on why (my brain is still a bit woolly I guess).  I definitely wished I hadn't added the vertical line of medium-sized circles down the right hand side, and would have taken it off again, only the seam ripper has gone walkabout.  Instead I have decided to leave it there, but to change other bits around.

This is feeling better, so I am leaving it on the floor while I go to print more of the colour definition strips and prep the next batch of little circles.

I love how you've rearranged them for the second one. These blocks are really beautiful. This is my first time coming to your blog so maybe you've been posting about these already, but it looks like dozens of pretty sunsets!

Having the longer chains of horizontal circles balances the vertical one on the right. Looking good!

Well that was one extended period of illness. I'm glad to hear you're getting better - I was worried you weren't coming back! I love the latest layout; it looks like coming back to it with fresh eyes was worth the wait :)

Glad to hear you're feeling better. Isn't it funny not sewing for so long? The circles are looking great.

So glad to hear you're getting up to speed. Uggh. Hate the kind of illness that knock us completely off our feet. I bet the quilt did look different to you. Like it was on Mars or something.:)

So pleased to see you back again! I looked at your top photo and wondered what you would not be happy with it, then I saw the bottom photo, studies for a moment and yes I do like this layout!

I like the rearrangement. Sorry to hear you had to take 2 weeks off and I hope everything is OK. Hugs to you!

I do like your last layout, but I think mainly because it's more cohesive--there's less floor showing. I'm glad you're feeling better. Getting back to sewing again is a really good sign of returning health!

I'm glad you're on the mend. This bug has been traveling world wide. So many friends (and I ) have caught it in far flung places. It takes a long time to recover. Take it easy.
Your quilt is lovely, as usual. Isn't it funny how differently we view a piece after a break?

I am all about horizontals recently too. I guess they're grounding, and that's appealing these days. But I like that vertical string! Just as well your seam ripper was "lost." All the best!

Thank goodness you are finally getting better Kaja!
The first thing I thought when you side the circles had been on the floor waiting all this time was that the room must have a door that closes. Otherwise kitty and kids would have done some improv for you, LOL. Version two is looking even more wonderful, so your brain must be stepping back into full gear.

wooly thinking... I think it looks so very intriguing. The colors and striped fabrics, the line circles make, is all balanced. Leave it, no ripping. The ripper is hiding because she knows...

I'm so sorry you have been so ill. I noticed it was pretty quiet over in your corner...I hope you improve vastly, quickly. The circles still look great to me, and I know you will land on the right arrangement. I want to swim in the colors you have there on your floor!

Hope your on the mend now gal. Sorry you've had a bad case of the lurgy but how great you've been able to leave the quilt bits on the floor and it not be disturbed!
My dog and cats would have rearranged it completely!!
Take it slow - it looks smashing to me : )

Love your excuse, "The seam ripper has gone walkabout"! That's my new excuse every time I lose something. The circles are looking great, especially the second setting. They are so bright and colorful that surely playing with them helped you feel a bit better.
