Circling again

I have decided  that for now I am going to ignore all the things I haven't done (365 circles and purple scraps to name but two) and just pootle on with my stripy circles and a bit of quilting.  It's not that I don't want to do the other things, but I find I am kicking against the idea (entirely self-inflicted) that I am "behind" with things.  Tell me I've got to do something and I dig my heels in!

The circles, though, are moving on.  This is where I was mid-morning...

and this is now.

Quite a big chunk is sewn together (3 circles high by 5 or 6 wide), the rest is just sitting there on the floor while I consider it.  I am liking the vertical line of medium circles better now that I have repeated the idea in other parts of the quilt, so it can definitely stay, even though I've located the seam ripper.

No getting away from the fact that it all comes down to making the basic units again now, and printing more strips (though that's lots of fun). I started off just making them willy-nilly but now, especially with the biggest circles, I am trying to look at what I have and think a bit more about what will work best in the gaps.

Love your 365 circle quilt. I especially like the way you have incorporated small and large circles. I've started a 365 circle quilt for my grandson. He's 2 and I figure I'll have it finished when he graduates high school.

Looking good already. It's great that you have all that design space.

Sometimes we just have to focus on one thing. It's always fascinating to see where you go with an idea and then of course where you end up.:)

It's always good to get my "fix" for the morning when I see the circles! It really is looking amazing and good for you losing the "being behind with things" feeling, I think I could use a little of that at the moment!

You're making great progress. You can put away that seam ripper. Are you printing this striped fabric?

I love how you say "pootle along" Kaja. It makes me picture an old jalopy with puffs of smoke coming from the tailpipe as it pootles down a country lane.
This quilt just gets better and better! I get semi-rebellious feelings about "must dos" too, even self inflicted ones.

I really like how the rows of small circles tie it all together, the repetition draws the eye along,so you see all the big circles.

When I feel that way, pressured to do something or feeling behind I just don't enjoy the process or much of anything! Best to get on with one and do the others some other time, they will fit sometime when you will enjoy doing them, I know that feeling. Still loving this quilt!
