No scrap left behind

Right down to the wire is customary practice for me now, but this time I can barely see the wire in my rear-view mirror.  Literally every last piece is being utilised and I'm drafting in any extra bits and bobs that catch my eye too.  Blocks I tried and rejected are now a shoo-in for this quilt.  In fact, anything goes if it fills a bit more space.

Here are a few examples: this one has much bigger triangles from the mucky green fabric with the little rows of sprouts.  It's the one thing I still have a lot of, as it was only going into the black hst blocks.

You can also see triangles pieced from two fabrics...
 here's another one of those...
I have lots of little hourglasses, as a consequence of cutting without reference to a ruler or any form of measurement.  I'm making them bigger, like this one
or using them in groups, like here.
I'm rather enjoying the challenge.

It looks like you are up for the challenge and I like the way you are using everything up. It feels close and I look forward to seeing it come together!

These are disconcerting times indeed. The groups with which I am involved are developing work-arounds to replace our in-person meetings. I've already got schedule conflicts! The colors of our project are very soothing. Hope you find that sewing them re-centers you.

Enjoying the challenge is what it's all about, isn't it? I've been working on my challenge quilt top too which I didn't really plan on making because I have other things calling out to be finished. But, I just gave in to the whim.

I always enjoy looking at your quilts made so freely and wish I had the talent/courage to try it. I’m amazed how you can pull fabric and make such beauties straight from your hands.

Like Ann, I too love how you 'play' with fabric and get amazing results. The pieced sections of the hourglass blocks invite another look, so creative!

You have reached a level of independence which I admire a lot. Free in patterns harmony in colors. Great!

Missed this post Kaja! I am always fascinated by the way you can gather
pieces that you may have put on one side and then bring them out again at some point find the perfect spot for them in the quilt.

Hi, Kaja. I was thinking of you this morning and realized that you haven't posted for a while. Maybe you switched to Instagram? Are you okay? I hope all is well.
