Some things to keep, some to remove

Yesterday I thought I was going to take the little chunk I had pieced and work out from it in one direction or another.  But I couldn't come up with something I liked so I decided just to work on a completely different bit and worry later about how they went together.
As it happens I think they sit quite nicely next to each other.
At least two things in this photo will be gone when you see these bits again though.

So interesting. I love the way your mind works.

Yes, what to leave in and what to take away--always a problem...
I like that red/black plaid fabric...hugs, Julierose

Ooh, I like that it has a bit of a dark to light progression right now!

You are making putting together a piece I wish I could. The combinations of fabrics makes this look like a vintage quilt which I totally love. You at least are making some progress whereas I am still in recovery mode from helping to pack at my brother's house and spending time at the hospital with my SIL on Monday. I took last night off just to catch up and relax so maybe tonight after work I will have the energy to at least try and work on a project.

They definitely play well together - I'm now waiting to see which two bits are going!

Love seeing the darker unit snuggled up with the lighter pieced unit. This is exuding a wonderfully old fashioned utility vibe already.:)

The pinwheels and hourglass make a good stop to your strips and at the same time, they are subtle. This will be another interesting quilt to watch progress.

I like the hourglass pieces. The dark pieces read as solids, and work really well with the those pretty plaids. It's interesting how the hourglass and pinwheels work. Maybe it's the diagonal lines that they both sport.
