Sewing not ironing

Finally, I think I've got it.

Here's the bottom bit with an added stripe:

And here's the left-hand side, with a nice big area of triangles and some wider strips - mostly laid out and not yet sewn, but only because I've got to work out what happens at the top next and I want to add one more bit along the bottom.

Everything's a bit wrinkly, but it gets folded up and put in a box, and if I ironed it every time it came out my blog would have to be called 'Ironing with a bit of sewing on the side'.

There is no harm in organic, real life photography and presentation of work. Who wants to iron all day?

That would be an interesting blog - ironing with sewing on the side

I'm enjoying this soft gentle process and soft gently quilt.

Yes, I try to iron as little as possible too. I love the small quarter log blocks peeking out from the field of triangles!

Yes, you really have got it, Kaja. The balance is looking just right between the high energy redblocks and the more restful blues with the little triangles.

Yes you are on your way with this quilt. I love especially these green stripes. And for ironing: I never put back a work on progress in a box for that my working space is always a mess. :-( perhaps I should start to love wrinkly pieces.

You are on a roll now! It is really starting to come together. I like that long piece of striped blue fabric. It brings cohesion to the piece and helps the elements relate to each other. Excellent work!

I like the way you are quietly adding more value contrast. Great fabric choices and interesting to watch this develop.

I really like how the stripes and plaids complement the floral bits. And the effect of the triangles on the housetop blocks--they really make an calming "background" even though there's really a lot going on in them. Love the unpressed picture. Real life!
