Yellow Birds - all that's happening here

There is still literally no piecing happening here, though I am determined to make time for a bit tomorrow, if only so that I have something to share on AHIQ on Tuesday.  Trying to look on the bright side, I am telling myself that at least my hand quilting hasn't ground to a halt and Yellow Birds is coming along nicely - maybe half done.

A couple of progress pics...

and I am linking up with Kathy for Slow Sunday Stitching.

  3. This quilt is definitely on the bright side (in a very good and happy way). I'm glad you are still finding time for hand quilting, and I hope you piece some tomorrow.

  4. Love seeing your progress on Yellow Birds. It looks like you are quilting with both gold pearle cotton and regular quilting thread, is that right? I like the way the gold thread reflects the light.

  5. Nic e to see you're able to fit in some hand quilting. I am lagging sorely behind with AHIQ projects - life sometimes get in the way of quilting sadly!

  6. You know, I keep reminding myself to slow down and enjoy. Yellow Birds is a delight. Quilting progress doesn't show much in photos but it's so important. Otherwise we just become Toppers. ;-)

  7. This must be a wonderful project to work on at this time of year. Now that you are calling it Yellow Bird(s), I immediately start hearing the steel bands!

  10. I like those close up shots. The variety of fabrics you used are so interesting. I have a post ready for tomorrow. The post is about what I got done over Thanksgiving weekend. No improv piecing, but I did use up scraps to make blocks, which made baby quilt tops.

  12. Love seeing little bits and pieces of your hand quilting! It looks beautiful as always. Hand quilting seems to make every quilt top just a little bit better than it was before.:)

  13. Beautiful! My favourite kind of photos too. I hope you get to do a bit of piecing tomorrow. If not, hopefully you will find more time to do hand quilting.

  14. Nice to see yellow birds again. I know my favourites are your lighthouse quilts but I have a feeling yellow birds may be a close runner up. I have been hand quilting recently, and wow, its sore on the fingers!
