This is progressing ok, I think. I added the blunt triangles to both sides of my favourite block
and then to both ends.Since then I have made more long rectangles and more blunt triangles, just accumulating bits really. I added extra triangles, at the bottom just because I like them and at the top because it made the long pieces fit better. And a little band of the gold-y fabric. Then I put it away. When I got it out again this morning, it landed on the floor the "wrong" way round and guess what? I think maybe I prefer it like this. That's a bit of a surprise, but I am rolling with it for now.
The blunt triangles work well with the larger blocks. And very interesting about seeing the piece rotated differently; seems like maybe you like the long piecing lines running more horizontally for now.
ReplyDeleteIt's coming right along. Horizontal or vertical - it has way to inspire. Enjoyed your tip on the other blog. I've got to remember to try the backside of a piece of fabric. I have sewn pieces into a quilt before that have been wrong side up but it was by accident Ha!
ReplyDeleteComing together nicely!! I like the blunt triangles...they add a lot fo drama hugs, Julierose
ReplyDeleteI like the accidental layout, too!
ReplyDeleteI love the way you put these two elements together!
ReplyDeleteLove the look of the blunt triangles! This one is already looking so YOU. I'm betting it feels fun too.:)
ReplyDeleteKeep on rolling -I love the blunt triangles and the changed orientation.
ReplyDeleteSerendipitous falling fabric. Your mix of colors and values works well. It’s a great mix of plaids.
ReplyDeleteAnd there's that tension! Ha, I love it! The top is growing just like the weeds in my garden. (It's been all of two minutes since I read your last post.) The different blues are beautiful together. You already have a winning combination.
