Still quilting

I'm thinking it's about time for an update on All at Sea.I'm still quilting, though to be honest I'm going through one of those phases where I'm easily distracted.  There is progress though.  I'm maybe 2/3rds of the way through, possibly even a little more.  It feels like time to knuckle down a bit now.

  1. Your stitches are so neat. Do you use a hoop? I don't hand quilt often, but when I do I find it easier on my hands to omit the hoop.

  3. Omigosh this is simply delicious -- I love the hand quilting and miss being able to do any of my own. Cannot wait to see this one out and about for its beauty shots once finished!

  7. I was just looking at your previous posts on this quilt. I always enjoy the way you pieced the different lighthouses. And love the blues. It is hot but I hope you keep plugging away.

  8. I do wish I was still able to do lots of hand quilting, hands went on strike a while ago!! Your stitches are beautifully even and I love the organic look to your quilting.

  9. What great photos! The colours really sing here, and I'm drooling once again over that leafy white fabric. And the quilting looks great too!

  11. Are your quilting stitches the same length at the back as the front?
I'm a lazy hand quilter so mine are shorter at the back which actually annoys me, so I should put more effort into it clearly!
Ive even occasionally run another line iof stitches over the back fabric stitches so it looked the same lol
    Now there's a confession!

  13. A little bit here and there adds up too. I'm at that point with my quilt in the hoop, so easily distracted. Didn't get any stitching in the last two nights! Your stitching is looking marvelous though!

  14. It's funny I'm just about to ask the same question as Libby from TN, although I'm pretty sure you use a hoop. But you get so much done on these big quilts, I need to double check!

  17. I find the quilting is the hardest part . Aside from time consuming I find it's where I lose steam . But the weather means sitting outside quilting ?
