This is my Wall quilt, done dusted.
I started this on 1st June 2015 and finished piecing on 14th September.
Quilting started on the 29th May this year and it was finished on 24th July.
It is not huge - a scant 60" all round, but that's big enough to cuddle under (and I had no more fabric!)
Mixture of fabrics (bet you can spot some of them) including Carolyn Friedland's Doe, Kaffe Fassett and Grunge. As is my habit I have used a wool batting and it is quilted with a Sulky 12 blendable thread in a mixture of blue, green and yellow.
The binding is a Kaffe Fassett stripe.
I know lots of people are away/on a blogging break over the summer but we're running AHIQ anyway - hopefully someone else is still out there!
This just pops with colour. I love it.

ReplyDeleteA superb finish Kaja! That wool wadding looks so squidgy and soft. There's such a lovely rhythm to the squares and as ever I love your quilting! I'd love to cuddle up under it! (Sorry, I deleted the first comment because there were so many typos it was illegible!!)

Yummy color scheme. I've never used wool batting or sulky 12. Thanks for the tip. Congrats on the finish.

ReplyDeleteThese colors look great together! And 60" is perfect for cuddling! I've added a link but, really, it probably shouldn't be in AHIQ. At least I can say I didn't plan any of the stitching. Luckily there aren't too many of the same fabrics touching each other.

ReplyDeleteGosh, I love this piece! There is so much interest in the piecing, and I appreciate the limited palette. It's going to be perfect in a place you can sit to look at it--not just walk by. It takes several minutes to take it all in, I think. This was an excellent choice to finish! I give it an 'A'.
