Moving swiftly onwards

Here is Märket done:

and, to get right up to date, here is about half of Dungeness. As soon as I decided on lighthouses I knew I was going to make Dungeness - both because one of my dear friends lives close by and because of Derek Jarman (filmmaker - take a look at the garden he made in Dungeness here).

I am going to make one more and then start playing around: not to say there will only be six, but it seems enough to make a start with.

Linking up today with Lorna at Sew Fresh Quilts.

  1. Market looks great, and I really love that green & white floral at the base. It has a very Marimekko feel to it, which is perfect! Dungeness is a great contrast. What a wonderful project this is becoming!

  2. I love how Market finished! Do you know which lighthouse you will use as inspiration next?

  4. I love them both, and you are showing me about new places! Interesting factoid...the local crabs we love (and which were in short supply this year) on the California coast are called "Dungeness" and I always knew that was a place name from somewhere; now I know where! I'm enjoying following this story, also!

  6. Lighthouses are so cool in general and yours are just wonderful!! I love the representation of real life houses. We went up the one at Portland Bill last year and it was just incredible. Hopefully we are going to head to the coast for a couple of days next week and I will get to see a real like one again too!

  10. Two more lovely lighthouses, you have chosen ideal fabrics for these, and I think the cloud fabric was made just for this project!

  14. The sky around Märket is amazingly moody, like a storm brewing Kaja. I checked your link to see Derek Jarman's garden. That is my very favorite kind if garden... rugged and artistic and fitting perfectly into its surroundings. Thank you for sharing!
