I liked the nine-patches and occasional circles, but in retrospect, maybe it was beginning to feel a bit tight to me. I don't mean that in a negative way, but there was some tension there, for me. I never would have predicted how you've changed it up, but the big arcs are relaxing, giving the eyes a resting place and opening things up in a very pleasant way.
