I brought this on myself!

Ho hum, I'm still plugging away at this but one of the results of deciding that the triangle strips are functioning as the quiet spaces in this quilt is that I am spending ages, and ages, and ages making endless wee triangles.  Strangely I don't seem to mind this too much, despite my generally short attention span, though I do get a bit demob happy when I can stop making the strips and actually put together a chunk of quilt.

After lots of tinkering I filled in the gap (bottom right in the picture below) that I had been puzzling over...

so that the left-hand side of things was looking like this.

But no sooner was that done than I decided that little piece was exactly somewhere else - down on the bottom right, in fact.

So I moved it.  The bottom right now looks like this and the top left has a neat rectangular gap, which I will have to fill in again.
But before I can do that, I need to make more triangles.

I love that you are changing the scale of the quarter log cabins; it's looking great!

Love, love, love. Are your stripes from men's shirts?

This is really turning into a great feeling quilt. The calm sections are calm, but also a little sparky with those triangles. There are so many interesting things! It feels like momentum is building now. :D

The red and white striped fabric is making this quilt come together beautifully. It is good that you are flexible in moving pieces around to see if they fit in another spot better. Now go make some more triangles! LOL!!!

That light stripey fabric is the perfect filler, emphasizing everything else marvelously! I have been so intrigued to see how you would work with the squarish log cabins and still end up with a 'you' quilt. As per usual, you never disappoint!

It's so interesting to see how you make these open spaces work. I can also see how necessary the dark blue and white stripe fabrics are. They create enough value range yet still keep a quiet quilt. It's always a joy to see your work and read about your process. Thanks.

Thank you! Yes, all the stripes and the checks are recycled shirts.

To me it says 'cheerful' just right for these rainy spring days.
Thanks for sharing, Kaja.

I do admire the way you try these different layouts, and have the patience to do so! Liking what you've done right now.

The wee endless triangles may take some time but they look to be well worth the time! How do you remember where everything goes when you sew sections of your quilt together? If I did this I would forget how two pieces get sewn together before I got to the sewing machine!

(I know about the endless triangles...been making endless HSTs for one of my quilts and have to take breaks and work on something else.)
